ABOUT ME

Since I was a kid, I always liked doing creative things. Whether it was drawing, painting, or writing, I always had to express whatever I had on my mind. When I went to college in 2000, I originally wanted to major in Art but I got an English degree instead. I worked as a technical writer, a teacher, and did insurance for a while. However, I never lost my sense of imagination or creativity. When I had my daughter in 2015, I started to go to the library a lot more and started to read to her at an early age. As I read to her, my mind started to bubble with ideas on books that could write and illustrate for her. And so the idea for Mom, a Box, and Me came about. I based it on our playtime together and when my own mom introduced me to a box.

When I'm not writing or illustrating, I live in Florida and love spending time with my family.
